I have a few animals in Cenozoic Era that are my favorite.
1. Dire wolf (Canis dirus)
2. American lion (Panthera atrox)
3. Smilodon (Smilodon populator)
4. Short-faced bear (Arctodus simus)
5. Cave hyena (Crocuta crocuta spelaea)

Man would probably raid wolf dens and eat Cubs. They may have taken their kills too.

Is it considered evolving or devolving (idk if that’s a word) for the animals we have now? Like wolves have in a way become less of a threat than the way they used to be uk? Like wolves and dogs. So basically dire wolves were the perfect wolves, Big, Fast and stronger but now they’re the kinda downgraded version. So idk why why it’s referred to as evolving

There is a bigger wolf than the dire wolf, so its not the biggest, and dire wolfs were 85 cm in height and the actual biggest wolf were 120 cm.

Actually Grey wolves do take care of injured pack members. Many instances have been found in Yellowstone National Park over the last 26 years since the Wolf Reintroduction in 1995 and 1996. One young male in the pack was injured in a battle with another pack and this left him with a permanent limp on his back leg. His alpha male father made sure he got extra food from kills. This young male eventually went on to trek south from Northern Yellowstone (along the Wyoming-Montana) down to Grand Teton National Park (Central Western Wyoming), then down to near Salt Lake City, Utah. Over 300 miles away from where he was born. All of this with a permanent limp. He was caught in a coyote leg trap and was rescued. He was released in Grand Teton National Park, then he spent the next six weeks traveling back north to his family. He did this with his permanent limp and a temporary limp on a front leg rom the coyote trap. When he returned to his pack, he was accepted back with open arms and they took care of him until he healed. When his alpha parents died, he became alpha male despite his injuries. He was eventually kicked out of the pack by two new males who took over. He then moved south back to Grand Teton National Park and formed his own pack. There he lived as alpha male for another four year until he died at age eight. He would have made it past one if his pack had not taken care of him during the first permanent injury, then he wouldn’t have lived past three if they hadn’t taken care of him during the second temporary injury. So his entire life and story was impacted by his pack taking care of him.
